And assuredly We have created man and We know whatsoever his soul whispereth unto him, and We are nigher unto him than his jugular vein. 16 Behold! when the two receivers receive - one on the right hand and one on the left a sitter. 17 He utters not a word, but there is a vigilant watcher at hand. 18 The palsy of death will surely come. This is what you wished to avert. 19 And the Trumpet shall be blown; that is the Day of the Threat. 20 And every human being will come forward with [his erstwhile] inner urges and [his] conscious mind, 21 [and will be told:] "Indeed, unmindful hast thou been of this [Day of Judgment]; but now We have lifted from thee thy veil, and sharp is thy sight today!" 22 And his companion, [the angel], will say, "This [record] is what is with me, prepared." 23 (And it is said): Do ye twain hurl to hell each rebel ingrate, 24 Forbidder of good, exceeder of limits, doubter, 25 and an idol worshipper. Throw him into severe torment". 26 ۞ His companion will say: Our Lord! I did not lead him into inordinacy but he himself was in a great error. 27 [Allah] will say, "Do not dispute before Me, while I had already presented to you the warning. 28 The sentence that cometh from Me cannot be changed, and I am in no wise a tyrant unto the slaves. 29
