Surely We have created man, and We know the promptings of his heart, and We are nearer to him than even his jugular vein. 16 When the two receivers receive, seated on the right and on the left. 17 Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it). 18 And the intoxication of death will bring the truth; that is what you were trying to avoid. 19 And the trumpet shall be blown; that is the day of the threatening. 20 And every soul cometh, along with it a driver and a witness. 21 'Thou wast heedless of this; therefore We have now removed from thee thy covering, and so thy sight today is piercing.' 22 And (unto the evil-doer) his comrade saith: This is that which I have ready (as testimony). 23 Do cast into hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 [every] withholder of good [and] sinful aggressor [and] fomentor of distrust [between man and man - everyone] 25 who has set up with Allah another god. Indeed, you two, cast him into the terrible punishment' 26 ۞ and his associate [Satan] will say, "Lord, I did not make him transgress, he had already gone far astray himself." 27 He (Allah) will say: 'Do not dispute before Me. I sent you a warning beforehand. 28 My Word is not changed; and never do I inflict the least wrong upon My servants.” 29
