We created man -- We know the promptings of his soul, and are closer to him than his jugular vein -- 16 When the two angels meet together, sitting one on the right, and one on the left, 17 not even a word can he utter but there is a watcher with him, ever-present. 18 and (the human being will be told), "This is what you had been trying to run away from". 19 And the trumpet will be blown: this is the Day of the Threatening. 20 And every soul shall come, with it a driver and a witness. 21 (And the driver will say:) "You were oblivious of this, so we have removed the veil, and how keen is your sight today!" 22 And his companion, [the angel], will say, "This [record] is what is with me, prepared." 23 Do cast into hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 "Who forbade what was good, transgressed all bounds, cast doubts and suspicions; 25 Who setteth up another god along with Allah. Do ye twain hurl him to the dreadful doom. 26 ۞ His [devil] companion will say, "Our Lord, I did not make him transgress, but he [himself] was in extreme error." 27 The Lord will say, "Do not argue in My presence; I had certainly sent you a warning. 28 No word is to be exchanged in My presence. I am not unjust to My servants". 29
