And We have already created man and know what his soul whispers to him, and We are closer to him than [his] jugular vein 16 (Remember!) that the two receivers (recording angels) receive (each human being after he or she has attained the age of puberty), one sitting on the right and one on the left (to note his or her actions). 17 each word he utters shall be noted down by a vigilant guardian. 18 Lo, the agony of death has indeed come with the Truth. That is what you had sought to avoid. 19 And the Trumpet shall be blown: that will be the Day whereof Warning (had been given). 20 And there shall come every soul therewith shall be a driver and a witness. 21 You were heedless of this, but now We have removed your veil, so your sight today is sharp. 22 And (unto the evil-doer) his comrade saith: This is that which I have ready (as testimony). 23 The command was given: “Cast into Hell every hardened, stubborn unbeliever, 24 “The one who excessively prevented from virtue, the transgressor, the doubtful.” 25 who has set up another god besides God: cast him into severe punishment" -- 26 ۞ and his associate [Satan] will say, "Lord, I did not make him transgress, he had already gone far astray himself." 27 He saith: Contend not in My presence, when I had already proffered unto you the warning. 28 No word is to be exchanged in My presence.
