Surely We have created man, and We know the promptings of his heart, and We are nearer to him than even his jugular vein. 16 When the two receivers receive, sitting on the right and on the left. 17 whatever phrase he utters, an observer is present. 18 And the stupor of death will come in truth; that is what you were trying to escape. 19 And the trumpet shall be blown; that is the day of the threatening. 20 And every human being will come forward with [his erstwhile] inner urges and [his] conscious mind, 21 Certainly you were heedless of it, but now We have removed from you your veil, so your sight today is sharp. 22 And his companions shall say: This is what is ready with me. 23 The command was given: “Cast into Hell every hardened, stubborn unbeliever, 24 Forbidder of good, exceeder of limits, doubter, 25 Who made [as equal] with Allah another deity; then throw him into the severe punishment." 26 ۞ and his associate [Satan] will say, "Lord, I did not make him transgress, he had already gone far astray himself." 27 He saith: Contend not in My presence, when I had already proffered unto you the warning. 28 The judgment passed by Me shall not be altered; but never do I do the least wrong unto My creatures!" 29
