We swear that We have created the human being and We know what his soul whispers to him. We are closer to him than even his jugular vein. 16 When the two receiving angels receive from him, one seated on the right and one on the left. 17 Not a word does he utter but there is a sentinel by him, ready (to note it). 18 And the hardship of death came with the truth; “This is what you were escaping from!” 19 The trumpet will be sounded. This is the Day [you were] warned of. 20 And every soul shall come, and with it a driver and a witness. 21 (And unto the evil-doer it is said): Thou wast in heedlessness of this. Now We have removed from thee thy covering, and piercing is thy sight this day. 22 And (unto the evil-doer) his comrade saith: This is that which I have ready (as testimony). 23 Do cast into hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 Preventer of good, aggressor, and doubter, 25 Who set up with Allah another god. So cast him ye twain into the torment severe. 26 ۞ His comrade saith: Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he was (himself) far gone in error. 27 Allah will say: "Dispute not in front of Me, I had already, in advance, sent you the threat. 28 The Word is not changed with Me; I wrong not My servants.' 29
