We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 When the two angels meet together, sitting one on the right, and one on the left, 17 Man does not utter any word except that with him is an observer prepared [to record]. 18 The trance of death will come revealing the truth: that is what you were trying to escape. 19 and [in the end] the trumpet [of resurrection] will be blown: that will be the Day of a warning fulfilled. 20 Each person will arrive attended by an [angel] to drive him on and another to bear witness. 21 (He will be told), "You were completely heedless of this day. We have removed the veil from your eyes and your vision will now be sharp and strong". 22 His companion attendant will say, "I have here his record ready." 23 Cast ye twain into Hell every person rebellious, contumacious. 24 hinderer of good, transgressor, causing others to doubt, 25 who has set up with Allah another god. Indeed, you two, cast him into the terrible punishment' 26 ۞ and his associate [Satan] will say, "Lord, I did not make him transgress, he had already gone far astray himself." 27 (It was said): “Do not remonstrate in My presence. I had warned you. 28 My Word is not changed; and never do I inflict the least wrong upon My servants.” 29
