Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Woe to the liars 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
