Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 and the burden-bearers 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
