Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
