Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
