Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 and the partitioners, 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
