Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
