Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
