Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the swift scatterers 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 and the smooth runners 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
