Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
60 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Dunes (Al-Ahqaaf) before Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
