Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
