Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
