Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
60 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Dunes (Al-Ahqaaf) before Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 There is also evidence of the Truth within your own selves. Will you then not see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
