Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 Turned aside therefrom (i.e. from Muhammad SAW and the Quran) is he who is turned aside (by the Decree and Preordainment of Allah). 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
