Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 and the smooth runners 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
