Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 and the smooth runners 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Woe to the liars 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
