Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
