Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
