Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 and the smooth runners 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth). 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
