Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Woe to the liars 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
