Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
