Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those [winds] scattering [dust] dispersing 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 There is also evidence of the Truth within your own selves. Will you then not see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
