Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
