Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 Turned aside therefrom (i.e. from Muhammad SAW and the Quran) is he who is turned aside (by the Decree and Preordainment of Allah). 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They slept little in the night, 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
