Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
