Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 And those that flow with ease and gentleness; 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
