Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 And those that flow with ease and gentleness; 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
