Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
