Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 and the smooth runners 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
