Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 and in the mornings they would ask for forgiveness; 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
