Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [winds] scattering [dust] dispersing 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
