Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 and the partitioners, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 your ideas are confused. 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
