Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 and the partitioners, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
