Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They slept little in the night, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
