Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
60 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Dunes (Al-Ahqaaf) before Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 and the partitioners, 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 Certainly, you have different ideas (about Muhammad SAW and the Quran). 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 and in the mornings they would ask for forgiveness; 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
