Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 And those that flow with ease and gentleness; 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
