Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
