Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
