Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
