Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
