Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
