Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
