Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the swift scatterers 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
