Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
